             abstract = "Climate-related events, such as floods, are increasing hazards for 
                         societies. They can become a disaster if actions are not taken. 
                         Worldwide, they represented around 91% of the total reported 
                         events between 1998 and 2017. In Brazil, drought-related events 
                         impacted 51% of the total number affected, followed by floods and 
                         landslides (33%). There is a growing recognition that societies 
                         contribute to worsening those events, but also to mitigate 
                         disasters through the implementation of social innovations, which 
                         are long-lasting innovative activities and services that are 
                         motivated by a social need. The objective of this research is to 
                         investigate how social innovations could enhance disaster risk 
                         reduction (DRR) related to hydrometeorological events in S{\~a}o 
                         Luiz do Paraitinga. A mixedmethod approach was considered to 
                         collect qualitative and quantitative data. Among the main results, 
                         a diverse range of ten preventive social innovations were 
                         identified. The actions were proposed by different focus groups in 
                         different venues and voted through a survey. The social 
                         innovations are planned to be conducted by local actors, who need 
                         financial and technical resources, and the support of different 
                         stakeholders. Besides, it was identified that public policies 
                         could support the proposal and implementation of social 
                         innovations, which could also contribute to drafting public 
                         policies that must attend to social needs to build more resilient 
                         and sustainable communities. RESUMO: Eventos relacionados ao 
                         clima, como inunda{\c{c}}{\~o}es, s{\~a}o amea{\c{c}}as 
                         crescentes para as sociedades. Eles podem se tornar um desastre se 
                         as a{\c{c}}{\~o}es n{\~a}o forem tomadas. Em todo o mundo, eles 
                         representaram cerca de 91% do total de eventos notificados entre 
                         1998 e 2017. No Brasil, os eventos relacionados {\`a} seca 
                         impactaram 51% do n{\'u}mero total de afetados, seguidos por 
                         enchentes e deslizamentos de terra (33%). H{\'a} um crescente 
                         reconhecimento de que as sociedades contribuem para agravar esses 
                         eventos, mas tamb{\'e}m para mitigar desastres atrav{\'e}s da 
                         implementa{\c{c}}{\~a}o de inova{\c{c}}{\~o}es sociais, que 
                         s{\~a}o atividades e servi{\c{c}}os inovadores de longa 
                         dura{\c{c}}{\~a}o que s{\~a}o motivados por uma necessidade 
                         social. O objetivo desta pesquisa {\'e} investigar como as 
                         inova{\c{c}}{\~o}es sociais podem melhorar a redu{\c{c}}{\~a}o 
                         do risco de desastres (RRD) relacionados aos eventos 
                         hidrometeorol{\'o}gicos em S{\~a}o Luiz do Paraitinga. Uma 
                         abordagem de m{\'e}todo misto foi considerada para coletar dados 
                         qualitativos e quantitativos. Entre os principais resultados, 
                         identificou-se uma gama diversificada de dez inova{\c{c}}{\~o}es 
                         sociais preventivas. As a{\c{c}}{\~o}es foram propostas por 
                         diferentes grupos focais em diferentes espa{\c{c}}os e votadas 
                         mediante um question{\'a}rio. As inova{\c{c}}{\~o}es sociais 
                         s{\~a}o planejadas para serem conduzidas por atores locais, que 
                         precisam de recursos financeiros e t{\'e}cnicos, e do apoio de 
                         diferentes stakeholders. Al{\'e}m disso, identificou-se que as 
                         pol{\'{\i}}ticas p{\'u}blicas podem apoiar a 
                         proposi{\c{c}}{\~a}o e implementa{\c{c}}{\~a}o de 
                         inova{\c{c}}{\~o}es sociais, o que tamb{\'e}m pode contribuir 
                         para a elabora{\c{c}}{\~a}o de pol{\'{\i}}ticas p{\'u}blicas 
                         que devem atender {\`a}s necessidades sociais para construir
